Following Up

So I left off being a little disgruntled about kids and their lack of creativity and leadership, especially in sports. A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of being a guest at a friend's lake house. They had some whiffle balls and a bat so we decided to play Lake Ball. Yeah, we made up a game and rules and scoring for some stupid game to play while we wasted away an afternoon. It was at that point that someone pointed out that we were doing the exact thing I described in my previous article. Even though we made up the rules, they were pretty lax. I hit a 6-run homer and we gave our opponent a 9-run homer because he absolutely smashed it. We didn't care about the "rules" at that point, but we followed them, even if they were invented not more than 2 hours earlier. We were more concerned about where the next Blue Lagoon was coming from and if we'd see that girl on the lake was. It took us about an hour of research to figure out B. Fellenz's name. Wait, that's too obvious, we'll call her Brooke F.

On a side note, if you ever get a chance to go on a charter fishing trip, I highly recommend it. It was a blast. Check out http://www.catchfivecharters.com/ for our picture in the next couple of weeks. Claude and Mike were great captains and are highly recommended. We also have pictures of the trip.
