Morning Report

Astros
Cubs -.5
Reds -.5
Cardinals -1.0
Brewers -2.5
Pirates -6.0

Brewers 8 vs. Reds 12

Bummer of a birth mark, Hal. Tough loss for the Crew, coming home after being on the road for 10 days. If my prediction of the Brewers taking 3 of 4 from the Reds is true, they are going to need better starting pitching. They have Sheets going tonight, and hopefully he can show a little better stuff than his outing in NY.

Tonight:

Brewres vs Reds- 7:05pm

Cubs had an off day, but it was one of the worst days in Cubs history. As reported earlier, Derrick Lee is out 8-10 weeks with two broken bones in his wrist. Gaddis and I spoke at length about this last night, but there is one thing which wasn't mentioned.

Watch the Cubs error total rise without the two time gold glover covering the base. Seriously, having someone 6'6" with a good blove at first base is a real plus for guys like Aramis Ramirez and Ronny Cedeno. Let's just watch Ramirez's error total rise without the height and reaching ability of Lee at first to dig out his throws.

Tonight:

Cubs @ Cardinals- 7:10pm

I Want to Cry

Awesome, I guess I have been to kind to goats, well, no more, it is over. Click on the link above as D Lee is out 2-3 months.

Morning Report

Since I send Gaddis and Ben this email everyday, I figured it would be just as easy to post it, so everyone can join in the fun.

Cardinals -1.0
Brewers -2.0
Pirates -6.0

Brewers 7 @ Astros 2

Solid effort by the Crew last night. Good pitching by Cappy, hitting in the right spots, it was a good win for them. Now they go back home and take on Cincy, they really need to put together a winning streak, and I think they will take 3 of 4 from the Reds.

Tonight:

Brewers vs. Reds 7:05pm

Cubs 5 @ Dodgers 4

Cedeno came through when the Cubs needed him to and Sean Marshall didn't pitch great, but got the job done in his 5+ innings to help the Cubs win the series. They haven't lost a series yet this season and are going into St. Louis this weekend after having swept the Cardinals 2 weekends ago. However, all is not well in Cub land. We will find out today or tomorrow just how bad Derrick Lee's wrist is after the freak play in which he jammed/sprained/tweaked it last night. If he is out for an extended period of time, Ramirez and Jones are going to have to step it up at the plate big time. Not just hitting the ball hard, but actually putting it in play.
