Quick Hits

Here are some quick thoughts from recent happenings in sports:

- Tony Dungy will be elected to the Hall of Fame. He has some solid stats including 6 straight 12 win seasons and 10 consecutive playoff appearances, but he is still borderline as a HoF coach. What I think puts him in is the fact that the media loves him. The fact he has garnered so much respect as a person will get him into the hall.

- LeBron James is winning the MVP this season and as +500 to win the Eastern Conference, everyone should hammer on the Cavs.

- The overtime rule in the NFL needs to be changed. I've heard 2 options thought of by other people that I like. The first is that it is a race to 6 points. If the first team to possess the ball scores a touchdown, game over, you couldn't stop them, if they kick a field goal, you have a chance to at least tie the game, or win it with 6. The second is the ball will automatically start at the 20 yard line. Whichever team wins the coin flip decides if they want offense or defense and then it is sudden death. I like that idea more because you are essentially calling out either the other team's offense or defensive unit and saying you're better.

- North Carolina is still the best team in the ACC.

- The Steelers and Eagles will play for the Super Bowl.

-until next time...
