The Keg

I can only do a quick little recap of the game last night because I am at work and my lunch break is almost over, but here it is.

Bottom line, the Brewers looked good, the Yankees looked horrible. Doug Davis has pitched in two straight games I have been to, and he has looked very good in each of them. Randy Johnson couldn't find the plate with his slider, and the highest I saw his fastball reach on the gun was 95. Granted, I wasn't watching his pitch speed after every pitch, but it should be higher than that.

The Yankees offense sputtered every time it had a chance to do some damage. The best example of that was in the 6th inning when 3 straight walks to lead off the inning yielded a whopping 0 runs. The Brewers got the clutch hitting they needed in the first when runners were in scoring position and again with Junior Spivey's game winning home run in the bottom of the fateful 6th.

The crowd was electric for the entire game. Sitting in section 206 (which was about 60-75% Yankees fans) we were even catching some of the hatred of the Bronx Bombers. The guys in section 202 were chanting "206...YOU SUCK!" for most of the game, quite an experience. One Yankees fan stood up then and yelled, "How many world championships do you have?" This is why many people hate the Yankees, their fans are jerks and think they are better than other fans. I am not like this, I wanted to ask the guy how many world championships he infact had. Just because he supports a team which has more championships than another he thinks he is more of a fan, or a better fan? I would tend to think that the people who cheer for teams without championships are better fans because they prove loyalty by sticking by a team and they probably enjoy the winning that much more, but that's just me.

Anyway, onto the stats:

Season record at The Keg: 3-1
Weiner race winner: Italian
Next game: Tonight vs. Yankees (Sheets/Pavano)

-Until next time...
