Monday, Monday

Last week seemed to just fly by, and now it's Monday again. I guess this is how life goes after you get a job, but oh well. I have to say before I get into the sports part of my post today that I went to one of my favorite bars in Milwaukee again on Saturday night. Lucille's Rockin' Pianos on old world third street is a great place to go if you want to hear all of your favorite music played dueling piano style. If you are in the Milwaukee area, I highly recommend it, after the $5.00 cover, the drinks are reasonably priced, and they actually don't pack people in the building, which is always nice. This is just for Todd, if you need specifics on what kind of music they play, they play much of the same things that are on "Filzen's Little Boys Mix", so there you go. Anyway, nothing but golf today.

I have to say that I was very impressed by the way Tiger Woods handled missing his first cut in 142 rounds. He basically said whatever, it was a good run, it's been 7 years or so, it's bound to happen. For what a big jerk he was when he first came on the scene, he sure has changed it around. I used to not like Tiger at all, but am becomming a fan, not a huge fan, but I'm coming around on him. In fact, all of the media personnel who ask him about his slump and what-not actually makes me like him more as a player. People need to let this guy go golf and not ask him about everytime he hits a bad shot. Sure, he may be a jerk on the course, but he handles all of the questions people ask and still does every interview people ask him to do. I give the man a lot of credit.

Speaking of dominant golfers, Anika Sorrenstam won AGAIN this weekend. That makes it 6 wins in her last 7 events. I would venture to say that there has NEVER been this kind of domination in any sport by any one player or team EVER. The only thing which probably compares is the UCLA Bruins basketball teams of 1964-1975 when they won 10 NCAA championships, including 7 in a row. Sorrenstam has won 30 times since 2002, which is exactly half of her wins on the LPGA Tour and is now tied for 3rd all time. She may not just be the best woman golfer on the planet right now, but the best golfer period. She plays flawlessly and just sucks the wind out of every other golfer on the course. She won the last event by 10 strokes! Sorrenstam already has 4 victories this season, so she is well on pace to beat the 11 she won in 2002. The woman can flat out play some golf. Oh yeah, and she's only been on the tour for 11 years.

-Until next time...

I should have burned more copies of the little boys mix. It was solid. And I'd gladly pay five bones to hear it ala dueling pianos.
