It's Been Such a Long Time

Just a quick update here my friends. First of all, like I said, I am without internet access at home right now, and actually have full days at work so I am unable to post. Thankfully, I am at a home right now which has internet access, so I can add a few things.

Let me start by thanking Andy and Mark for adding a link to our blog on their blogs, we appreciate it. Also, Mark, my thoughts are with you and praying for Sarah.

- So, let's say the Packers secure one of the top five picks in the draft, what do they do? Do they trade the pick for a player who has already been proven in the league, or draft a playmaker on either offense or defense? It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I've also been hearing John Clayton saying that Mike Sherman will probably be back next year, the team will have a huge makeover, but Sherman will be back. What? I don't understand what Mike Sherman has done which gives him such job security. Can someone please explain this to me?

- The Bucks aren't getting any love in every press before this season began. Now, they beat the 76ers and are 1-0, get your playoff tickets now! Seriously, I don't think they are going to be an elite team, but I really do think they are going to make the playoffs. I know I swore them off during the offseason, but after watching a little bit of the games tonight, they seem like they are going to be a very tough team. They are at the very least a top 10 team in the East, which is better than many publications have them ranked.

Oh and by the way, what's with all of the "controversy" surrounding the new NBA dress code. Get over it fellas, you're making millions of dollars, you can afford nice clothes that make you look respectible.

- The college football season is entering is final full month of regular season games, and some huge matchups remain. This Saturday isn't going to be anything quite like the Saturday of a few weeks ago when the USC/Notre Dame game happened, but it is a big weekend none-the-less.

There are two games which will help decide conference champions, Wisconsin at Penn State on ABC at 2:30 and in the night cap on ESPN, Miami at Virginia Tech at 6:45.

Both will be excellent games. I have been thinking all along that Penn State will kill Wisconsin, but I do not see this being more than a one score game. Unfortunately, Penn State is just better than Wisconsin and will win the game will their offensive ability. Virginia Tech will keep it's national title hopes alive by beating the Hurricanes in Blacksburg. Tech's defense is playing very well and Marcus Vick is playing very confidently right now and has the Rose Bowl as his ultimate goal. A hurricane may have destroyed New Orl... okay, that's bad, how about this one, not even a hurricane is going to stop Vick and the Hokies right now.

That's all for right now, I can't stay here all night. I promise that I will eventually have internet access again and will post regularly. No more 3 week gaps.

-Until next time...

The only thing that prevents them from being a top four team is the fact that they play in the best division in basketball. Yeah, I said it. Indiana and Detroit are both being tabbed as potential champs, LeBron is in Cleveland, and the Bulls are tough. This is hands down the toughest conference in the league.

Nobody trades a top five pick for a player. It never happens and never will, its dumb to even question if they would do that. Maybe you would know this if you ever attended any draft parties, so I guess you have to plead ignorance on that.

Reggie Bush
Jimmy Williams
Mathias Kiwanuku
LenDale White
Mario Williams
AJ Hawk

That's your list of who you're looking at taking (all of whom you can feasilby get)

Sherman has won four division titles. Granted his management is horrible and I don't think he's that good, but you can't deny that they still play for him, because as bad as they are they've been in every game this year. If he'd lost them they'd be getting blown out every week (yeah, and it helps to have Favre)

I think he could be back simply because of his extension, which actually was a good move by Ted Thompson. This way he's not a lame duck coach this year, and since it was only two years you can always fire him this offseason if someone better comes along and not have to eat that much salary. If not you have him for two more years so he's not a lame duck next year either, and you can do the same thing.

You don't make changes for the sake of changes. You can't fire Sherman just to get rid of him and bring in someone who's equally as bad or good depending on how you view him. Lateral moves set franchises back for many years.

Granted it was one game, and one preseason, but judging on how he looked and the addition of Magloire, anyone still think we should have taken Marvin Williams? I didn't think so.

TJ Ford will be the comeback player of the year

Bogut will be ROY

Larry Harris will be exec of the year

I know Gaddis is sick of hearing me say this, but I'll say it again, Charlie Bell will be this year's Bucks version of Damon Jones. Comes out of nowhere, puts up good bench numbers and is one of the bigger surprises of the year. Bolts in free agency this offseason.
